Dr. Cassandra TavaresDr. Cassandra Tavares Richard joined the practice in 2011 as a general dentist. Whether doing an exam during a routine cleaning or preparing your tooth for a crown, her goal is to make you feel as comfortable as possible throughout the process.

Dr. Richard grew up in Lynnfield and received her B.S. from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, in Animal Science. She was on a pre-veterinary track until after college when she realized her true passion for working with people and for dentistry. Dr. Richard received her D.M.D from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine. While at Tufts, she was President of the American Association of Women Dentists. She received the AAWD Award for Academic Excellence in her fourth year at Tufts. After graduation, she traveled to the Himalayas with the Himalayan Health Exchange on a dental and medical expedition to provide care to under-served populations in remote regions of India.

Dr. Richard especially enjoys family dentistry. She believes one of the most rewarding aspects of her profession is helping all family members to achieve optimal oral health. From Grandma and Grandpa to granddaughter or grandson, Dr. Richard welcomes patients of all ages, even those who just got their first tooth!

Dr. Richard is a member of the American Dental Association, Massachusetts Dental Society and North Shore District Dental Society. She understands that there is more to dentistry than is taught in dental school and is always learning more through continuing education.

Dr. Richard and her husband, Greg, enjoy spending time with their family, traveling, and giving back to the community. They have a strong passion for and are avid supporters of the Boys and Girls Club of Greater Salem.
