When a molar tooth is decayed, or damaged, it may be necessary for a crown to be fitted onto the tooth. A crown is an artificial replacement of the upper part of the tooth. It works by placing a covering over the original tooth which is cemented in place permanently.

The porcelain option gives a more realistic appearance, is longer lasting and hence is most commonly used. Crowns can whiten, reshape, and realign your existing teeth.

At Highland Dental Group we offer a choice of porcelain and gold crowns.

A bridge is used to fill the space where a tooth has fallen out or been removed. Typically it consists of a filler tooth that is attached to two surrounding crowns.

Once complete, this bridge structure is bonded into the mouth. Without this, spaces in the mouth from missing teeth can cause multiple teeth to shift, lead to various jaw problems, and may prompt periodontal disease.
